Get Safe Online 2015
Get Safe Online 2015 take places next week (Monday 19- Sunday 25 October).
Now in it’s10th year, this Government backed initiative promotes the simple steps we can all take to protect ourselves, from using strong passwords across all our devices, to taking care when opening emails and links from strangers.
During the week, Get Safe Online will be encouraging the public to spot the warning signs early on and to share this advice with family and friends. Research will also take place, determining people’s attitudes to online safety, and whether consumers are aware of how targeted it has become, or if they think falling victim is just bad luck.
Topics include online scams and how to avoid them, tactics burglars use on social media, tips for keeping children safe, and whether our favourite websites are actually checking our online habits.
