An IT Health Check (ITHC) identifies vulnerabilities in IT systems and networks which may compromise the confidentiality, integrity or availability of information held on those systems, and/or the availability of the systems themselves. They may be open to deliberate attack or accidental damage or interference.

A regular ITHC will provide evidence of vulnerabilities so that action can be taken to rectify them and maintain a secure, robust IT operating environment.

Amethyst ITHC services are designed to meet the needs of customers in all sectors. For Government, we work with one of our partners to provide a capability under the CESG CHECK scheme.

All ITHC's are carefully controlled and managed to determine the precise scope of the check. This may include operating systems, applications, and/or database elements. Likely attack vectors are also discussed and can be simulated to assess vulnerabilities from the perspective of an authorised internal user, or an unauthorised external attacker.

Our consultants work closely with IT Directors, system managers and administrators so that they have full visibility of the health check activities from start to finish.

For each ITHC we deliver a comprehensive report that contains full technical details and recommendations for remedial action, including a management summary for the benefit of senior management.
